What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We're releasing this game on Early Access for two reasons.

1 - as a lighthearted jab against developers that keep their games in early access.
2 - in order to help build up a loyal cul- I mean, a lovely following of players that care to see the development happen”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“At the current stage, this figure is unknown. We're hoping to only have it in EA for a year or so before going for a full release, as the development is taking place in part-time between the minds of two people.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We're hoping to ensure a bug-free release first and foremost. Remember: it's not a bug, it's a feature.

The game will consist of all of the typical things you see in a FPS, although possibly more simplified. We've never understood the concept of "seasons", so that's likely something we won't have (unless the community requests otherwise). We'll probably throw in some cute hats or something.

We've planned quite a lot of features and additions to be added during the development of Project Polygun. A few of these features will be fully finished upon release into Early Access, while others will be part of on-going development and polishing. Once released, we plan on implementing many community suggestions and ideas as well as overall improving the game's performance and the gameplay experience.

For the final version, we're planning on a multitude of exciting gamemodes and challenges, vehicle support, workshop integration, and a nicely fleshed out combat system including both armed and melee combat.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game in its current state is bare-bones basic.

It has a map, it has a mostly-functional main menu, it has a handful of guns.

Animations are somewhat implemented, although some models are temporary placeholders, all guns have the same range and same sound effect, and there are exactly three audio files despite only two being in use at this time.

In its current state, the game is just enough that it works as a playable *concept*, but nothing more than a concept.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will not change when we leave early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We highly encourage the community to post their ideas, suggestions, bug reports, comments, etc directly on Steam's discussion pages. Every single post will be closely read and we'll do our best to respond to each and every post you guys make. We also have a publicly viewable Trello board, so you can see exactly what we're working on at any given moment.

If more members of the community request a certain feature, we'll likely change priorities to get said feature implemented first. We'll be working hard to implement as many of your ideas as possible - but please understand that this is a project that's being worked on by two people in their spare time. Things don't happen overnight, and remember that good things come to those who wait.

We hope to stay true to our roots and make a sh*tshow of a project that the whole family will love - just for you <3”

About This Game

Project Polygun is an upcoming first-person shooter.

This game is poised as a lighthearted jab toward developers that keep their games in Early Access.

The initial goal when we theorized Project Polygun was to work with the community on implementing every request made. You want drivable tanks? Done. You want grappling hooks? Done. You want to be able to cast spells that turn your opponents into harmless rabbits? Done.

The reality of the matter is that since we're only two individuals working on this project in our spare time, there will likely be a lot of requests that we miss. But we hope to stay true to our roots and make a sh*tshow of a project that the whole family will love - just for you.

~Much love,
~The Arkadia Galactic team~
