What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early access gives us the opportunity to continue making improvements to Lifeblood while allowing new players to experience the game and provide feedback for updates. There are many avenues we'd like to explore in Lifeblood such as new classes and alternate game modes, thus any feedback we've received based on our changes is incredibly insightful towards the many upcoming features that we're excited to introduce.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Lifeblood will remain in early access until we feel that the game has been fully fleshed out; however, we estimate approximately 8 months to a year. This gives us ample time to provide substance to each of the game modes and their accompanying network services technology. We should be in a good place to progress beyond early access once we feel comfortable with the landscape of game features, visual aesthetic, and a meaningful balance of Lifeblood's atmosphere and elements. However, we will always be expanding on the foundation of the game with added content for players to explore. Regarding cross-platform play with the addition of consoles and other devices, it will take time to complete our initial version of the game. In any case, we are committed to maintaining or surpassing our development speed with the benefits of early access resources.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of the game will see the BR mode in a completed state as well as a new mode called conquest mode. We also plan to implement 15 different classes for the BR mode, ranked play, steam leaderboards and achievements, persistent levels in the BR mode that exist outside of the individual rounds.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently only the BR game mode is playable with the two classes Berserker and Spellslinger. Skins are available for Berserker and Spellslinger. Our character creator is fully implemented for Female characters.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Once you've purchased the game any additional content will come free of charge; however, that is not to say the price will not change when we leave early access, or if the price will be raised as we ship new content and features. We'll most likely price Lifeblood based on what we think the value of the game is after Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“In early access, feedback is essential for improving the game based on the results we receive from our player experience. We've fostered a community since the start of development by means of using Discord and Twitch to provide updates and information to interested players. Through that we were able to find game testers who graciously provided their feedback and dedicated time to helping us resolve bug issues and improve certain aspects of the game. Our hope for early access is to recognize the value of the community in our decisions being made about Lifeblood as well as having the resources at hand to deliver a game that everyone feels they were a part of.”

About This Game

Lifeblood is based in a fantasy world where players must team up to compete in a forested battle arena. As a fatal shroud engulfs the land in dark energy, contestants must fight to the death in order to stop its spread. In a land ruled by the Gods, it is decided that only one team may remain. Ensure your survival by harvesting resources from natural nodes and crafting armor. Armor can be reinforced with additional resources to a maximum of three tiers. Take control of the relentless Berserker, the mystical spellslinger, and other many unique classes! Together they form a completely unbiased and fresh take on class-based PvP. Classes may be changed as the game progresses by equipping different weapons, each granting the classes' abilities to the wielder. Become a force to be reckoned with as the shroud pushes survivors to the final destination, a central tower untouched by the shroud's dark energy. Make your final stand here and be granted the favor of the Gods!

Lifeblood is not limited to Battle Royale as we will release other game modes with newfangled concepts for PvP on the horizon. What makes Lifeblood different from other class-based games is how there is no 'role' a player must fill, such as a tank or healer. Lifeblood is not centered around solo gameplay. We strive to create an environment where players must communicate and work together to be effective.

Lifeblood is developed by Homage Studios, an independent game developing company started in 2017.

Coming Soon:
New Classes: additional classes will be added, including Assassins, Rangers, and Crusaders
Shrines: points of contention on the map where players can exchange Etherium for special gear and items.
Parties: groups of five will be able to compete in the battle arena.
Ranked Play: players will be matched according to a ranking system and play under competitive rule.
Solo Queues: only one survivor may remain in this game mode.
